Life post chemo

Easter has come and gone and we trust you all had an enjoyable one. We were in Liverpool over Easter and had a truly wonderful time with the family. On Easter Sunday, Rita and I went to our church St Andrews in Liverpool. Because of chemo we had not been for over six months and we got just the best welcome from folks. I had a chance to share where I was up to and it was great to see the church full and buzzing with life. Jesus is alive, death, could not hold Him. What a great message we have to share.

On Bank holiday Monday we went to an Ice Cream Farm in Cheshire. It was absolutely freezing, but we still had to taste the ice cream, which left us freezing on the inside as well as the outside. Ah it was worth it.

Tuesday was Maliha’s first birthday and she definitely seemed aware that something was up. She had her first birthday cake, and her first doll. Both Ian and Rita’s family came round in the afternoon and it was great catching up with everyone. 

 Well I am now three weeks out of chemo and it will take six weeks for it to be fully out of my system. I have to say I am feeling so much better already, more energy, better appetite and I am recovering my taste buds. I will be seeing the Oncologist every six weeks, with a CT scan every three months to keep an eye on things. In the mean time I feel the Lord is saying just get on with life so are travelling to Spain later this month and Denmark in May on ministry trips. Sharon and Tim are over early June for eight weeks and we are really looking forward to that and July see’s us back in Spain.

 So that's where we are up to. Thank you so much for all your love and prayers. We feel the benefit of them day by day and are so blessed by Gods goodness to us.

 The Lord has always provided a roof over our heads but some of our accommodation over the years has been challenging. When we first moved up to Liverpool we lived in two rooms. One was a kitchen/dinning room/lounge/ office and the other was a bedroom for both Louise and Sharon and ourselves. We shared a bathroom with others. It was not ideal but God gave us the grace to cope with it. After a while a local trust said they wanted to help us with accommodation. You choose the house they said, we will buy it and then rent it too you. And that's what we did finding a lovely three bedroom house, very close to the base. They were extremely good to us charging only £18 a week and also taking responsibility for all repairs outside. It was just an incredible blessing to us and it lasted for over 10 years
