Fifty and Thirty One

Fifty and Thirty One... you may wonder what that is all about. Well YWAM is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and we have been part of YWAM 31 years ourselves.
It all started in 1979 when in September we arrived at Holmsted Manor, not with a few suitcases, but in a Luton van with all our worldly possessions. We had arrived for the Discipleship Training School (DTS). Louise was 3 years old and Sharon just 8 months.






We were in a room on the top floor and here you see us back in that room. It hasn’t changed that much except we didn’t have to sleep in three high bunks, thankfully.







We moved on from Holmsted to Brighton at the beginning of 1981, leading an evangelism team. Then in September of 1984 we were back at Holmsted Manor for involvement in the Leadership of two more DTS’s and left for Liverpool at Easter of 1985. We were there for 20 years being involved in Evangelism, Training and Mercy Ministry before heading to Brighton to spend 9 months with our church. Then 2007 saw us head for Spain to work at the N.A. centre. (Those few lines contain many wonderful stories of God's faithfulness)
Now we are back in Brighton and once again part of YWAM England, while still keeping our contacts with YWAM N.A. At the moment we are looking for accommodation and we feel the Lord is saying to us to ‘wait well’ (as opposed to waiting badly) which we are seeking to do.

Last week we were in Harpenden for YWAM England’s 50th celebrations (you may remember I was coordinating the one in Torremolinos) and it was such a good time of inspirational teaching from the founders Loren and Darlene Cunningham and catching up with friends, some we hadn’t seen for many years.
