A Happy New Year

Well, I started this at the end of 2006 and am finishing it at the begining of 2007.
Firstly we want to wish you all a very happy New Year. May it be the best one yet for you.
We have had a wonderful Christmas and below are a few photos of our time in Canada, Liverpool and then Brighton for our New Years Eve party.

One of the highlight of the trip for Rita, a dog sled ride.

Ian and Louise are serious snowboarders, seen here with there own boards.

Here I am skating on Lake Louise, well at least staying vertical

Arrh, to soak our limbs after a hard day skiing, bliss
The hot tub on the decking of the house we stayed at was a big hit

Sharon and Tim lounging in the lounge.

Christmas back in Liverpool with Rita's mum sister and boys.

New Years Eve party at our house. We made it open home and 35 turned up! Mum's the one in pink.

Over Christmas we had two lovely surprises. The first was being upgraded to club class on the way home from Calgary. We were flying with B.A. and it was very, very nice. The seat can turn into a bed at the press of a button! Here was the problem, do I stay awake and enjoy fully all the attention and service, or sleep. In the end I went for sleep (4 hours) as we were driving straight up to Liverpool on arrival at Heathrow on Christmas Eve.
The other surprise was the offer of a car when we go to Spain. A couple who have moved to Morocco from Spain wanted to give their car to the base. The base has recently been given two cars and didn’t need it so Mark asked if it could be offered to us. The answer was yes and so we are the proud owners of a 20 year old Mercedes car. It’s automatic which is just what Rita wanted.
This month sees us packing up in Brighton and heading back to Liverpool on the 5th February.
We will then pack up the house in Liverpool ( the trust are not prepared to sell it even if we were interested in buying it) with much of our furniture going into Louise’s and Ian’s new five bed roomed house and leave for Spain on the 5th of March.
Thank you for keeping in touch, we loved reading lots of newsletters over Christmas. I hope to have the next blog out late January
Love to you all
