The Big News

The big news this month is that we are grandparents again. Maliha Grace (Maliha means strength and beauty) weighed in at 6lb 2oz and in her first week has proved to be a very contented baby. She is already getting the nickname of Millie so that may stick through her childhood years. Mum is doing really well and Asher has taken to his little sister already. The fact she gave him a car that he can sit in may have helped.

We have had a wonderful family time as we descended on Harrogate to celebrate my sister Pauline and Graham’s Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Well-done guys. Graham gave a moving speech and they cut the cake in the traditional way. So it’s now on to the next 40.

The following day we travelled with our friends Chris and Rosemary to the Island of Madeira for a week’s holiday. It was our first time and we loved the Island its lush vegetation, temperate climate, lots of hills to climb and a great chance to really catch up with our friends. This was our view from our balcony.















In just over a week I will be speaking for a week on the DTS at Kings Lodge which I really look forward to and then start preparing for a conference in Denmark that is coming up.

On the health front the radiotherapy hasn’t been as successful as the oncologist was hoping but I am seeing him this week and will find out what his thoughts are for the future.

We were on holiday in Holland and were at a large lake that had a sandy shore enjoying the sun with many others.

We were keeping a close eye on the girls who were about 5 and 3 but also enjoying catching up with friends. And then it was one of those moments, we couldn’t see Sharon. We were panic-stricken and started our search crying out to God that we would find her.

A few minutes rolled into 10 minutes then 20 minutes then 40 minutes as we searched all around the lake. Finally we came across her very upset in the arms of a girl who was walking around the lake trying to find her parents. You can imagine our relief. Thank you Lord. Needless to say we kept her very close for the rest of the time there.
