Season of change

The well know hymn ‘Abide with me’ talks about change and decay. Well we are certainly moving into a season of major change, but we hope we don’t experience too much decay. The great news is we have a God who does not change and abide's with us.
We only have three weeks left at Corona Road, our home for 17 years. There are packing boxes everywhere and we are in the midst of a massive clear out. You wouldn’t believe what we’ve accumulated over the years (or perhaps you would.) At the end of the month we will be handing the house back to the trust. What a blessing this house has been since we moved in during the summer of 1990. For much of the time we were paying a rent of only £80 a month.

and kitchen that I fitted last year, (with a little help from my friends.)

On the 27th July we move in with Ian and Louise. Their house is nearly finished, perfect timing. Here we are enjoying our first meal in their new house with Ian's mum and dad on Fathers day.

In early August we head to Brighton to spend the month with my mum and reconnect with the church. At the end of August we head back to Liverpool for a few days before flying from Liverpool to Spain on the 3rd of September.
One of the questions we’ve had was how to get our belongings over to Spain.
(They won’t all fit into two 20kilo suitcases.) Well God had it all planned out because YWAM’s boat ‘The Next Wave’ is going to be in Liverpool at the end of August and then heading to, yes you have guessed it Malaga. And yes we can put our 4 or 5 boxes of belongings on at this end and pick them up in Malaga. God is so good.

Although we have been busy the last few weeks we took time out to visit Betty a very good friend of ours in Oxfordshire. Here we are at the farm picking strawberries. Having tried them for taste a good few times, we decided they were ok and picked a good basket full.

In the next few weeks we have a cousin from Australia coming to visit and Sharon, coming over later this month. We are really looking forward to that but she will be without Tim sadly, because he’s working. We are also seeing a number of friends before we leave Liverpool. Wow! 20 years in one place. It has changed beyond recognition for the better, from when we first arrived and we have grown to love it, but also know that this chapter is over.

That’s it for this month; we will email you our new contact details later this month.
Love from us both.
