Chilly Chilly.

It has been two months since our last blog so there is much to share.
We headed of to spend Christmas with Sharon and Tim on the 14th December and for one night stayed in their old house. The very next day they were moving to a new home that had been newly renovated by the housing cooperative interestingly called Brighton. It is a two bed roomed place and idea for them and nearer Tim,s work. Mum and dad pitched in with the rest to move them and by lunch time the move was over and by the evening they were looking pretty straight. They had lots of little jobs for mum and dad to do over the next few days but then that is what mums and dads are for isn't it.


That day they moved the temperature dropped significantly and that was the start over the next week of 4 major snow storms (and lows of down to -21) We have not seen so much snow for a long time.
On Christmas Eve I travelled with Sharon to pick up Ian and Louise who were travelling via New York to Toronto airport. Their plane was delayed around three hours and so we headed back to Kitchener around 11pm. The first part was OK but then it started to snow and the wet roads turned to sheet ice. We passed a number of vehicles that were off the road in ditches etc and we crawled the rest of the way, getter back some time after 1am on Christmas morning. It was one of the scariest journeys I have driven in a long time.


However as you see we recovered and had a great Christmas meal. It was so good to be together as a family and so much fun. We stayed for New Year which we enjoyed at the home of some friends of Sharon and Tim’s and headed back to the UK on the 2nd. We left Toronto in a snow storm and because it had to have its wings de-iced we missed our connection to Manchester in Frankfurt. However there was no complaints as we were upgraded to business class on our long haul flight; it was very nice.

The cold weather must have followed us because back in Spain it was freezing with snow on the mountains across the Malaga bay.
Once we were back it was straight into the preparations for the DTS with lots of last minute details to cover.

However come the 15th of the month our students had arrived from countries such as the US, Australia, Holland and France. They are a great bunch and we have seen God at work in all their lives already. Here we are having our what is becoming our annual beach BBQ on the first Saturday and as you can see it was rather chilly.

Here some of the students are acting out one of the values we hold. Someone had spilt some tea so they are all rushing to clear it up, demonstrating servant hood. It was all so much fun.

AS I write this Rita is in Liverpool. She went back because her mum was causing concern with her health and her brother Ray who has taken so much responsibility with her mum because he lives so close, was caught up with his own wife being admitted to hospital. Her mum is a little better and Rita is planning to return later this week but we are wondering what the long term hold for her mum and us at this time.
