Friends, Food and Fun

Does March have wings? The month has flown past and we are nearly at the end of the lecture phase of the school. Just after Easter the students head off to North Africa for the three month field assignment phase of their school. They are a great group of students, have been very open for the Lord to work in their lives and very caring towards one another and indeed us as leaders.
They sprung a lovely surprise on us leaders last week, serving a delicious salmon meal with strawberry tart to follow. Mmmm. They were very creative by sending us on a treasure hunt for clues and we ended up on the beach, where they had laid a picnic 'first course' while they set the table in the Villa and served us as though we were in a proper restaurant. It was so much fun and we laughed our way through the meal as we discussed how they had set it all up without us knowing.

The students take turns to cook the main meal each day and they have all been very gifted in this area, fortunately. We have had a varied menu with a real international flavour as we have students from France, Holland, The States and Australia. Here you see two of the students both from the States pulling out the stops to produce a Japanese meal of sushi.

We had the privilege and joy of having our pastor David Treneer and Phillip Duek a member of the leadership team, come to see us and speak on the School re Faith and Finances. We were all so blessed and inspired by their teaching. A week later we prayed over some of the staff and students who had outstanding fees and within a few days all the money had come in for everyone. It was so encouraging. We also talked with David about our future, with the result being he agreed with us that we should commit ourselves to another year from September so we can finish what God has placed on our hearts.

The weekend after we had our friends Chris and Rosemary come out for a long weekend and we went to Seville together. The weather was amazing and it was so good to take some time out from a very busy schedule.



The previous week we flew to England for my Nephews wedding in the North East of England. They had won a £10,000 wedding in their local newspaper. Over a period of 3 or 4 weeks it was the couple that collected the most coupons from the newspaper that won. Our two went to town, sometimes buying all the newspapers in a shop and with the help of friends amassed the magnificent total of over 3,000. (The runners up were just a 100 short of the total) So in the beautiful setting of Gisborough Hall they were married and it was such a good time. It was so good to see most of the family(unfortunately Sharon and Tim in Canada didn’t make it) and here you see my sister Pauline and husband Graham, the Bride and Groom and a rare picture of Louise Ian and ourselves in our best bib and tucker.

Some very exciting news from Sharon and Tim is that we are to be grandparents. Baby is due early October.

Well that is it for now we are travelling a fair bit in the next two months both in North Africa and the UK so would value you prayers.
